Im addicted to Reeces Pieces Peanut Butter Cups and To Carribou Coffee's Large Mocha. The worst part is.....THAT I CANT GET ANY OF THOSE TWO DOWN HERE!!!! It sucks! Although...............me thinks that could part of the reason for me losing weight. Im also addicted to reading the Chicago Suntimes newspaper, but thats not a food. I just wanted to throw that one in there.

i noticed that two of the posters were insensed at the amount of ex-jws in this forum.. they started ignoring everyone else that had put their opinion in on the subject....and decided that everyone in this forum was a jw "hater".
i myself take offence to that, for i don't hate the jw's.

I think that the reasoning of the WTBS to hold meetings and /or assemblies where there were pagan symbols is that for the time the building is being used for the worship of Jehovah, its considered a kingdom hall, and a house of worship for Jehovah. Growing up in Chicago, our District assemblies were held at Sportsmans Park, and Hawthorne Race Track. Both were Horse racing tracks where gambling takes place. But we were constantly reminded that as long as the assembly was going on that they were houses of worship.

The system of privileges in WTS - any thoughts on how it works?
by Pole inwts has quite a few traits which are typical of totalitarian systems.
many of them have been demonstrated on this board (labeling, shunning, monopoly on truth, propaganda, indoctrination, polarization of reality etc.)..
there is one more aspect of the wts religion which can also be observed in most totalitarian systems and that is the system of granting privileges.

How does the system of privleges works? Very simple, if your dad was an elder or ms, you got privleges and it didnt matter if you were baptised or not as long as you were a publisher.

i was at a witness get together (wife still in so i'm allowed to tag along...) and a witness i didn't know from kentucky or tennessee or somewhere was talking to me and using the "terminalogy" and something i said must have cued him because he said "are you a jehovah's witness?

I would like to say Im completely faded but I cant, my loved ones are still in. That would be my gramma and my mom, and I still want to be able to TALK to them and have them HUG me. Its not easy, I wish it were. Sometimes, I still catch myself saying that Im a JW, when asked, "what religion are you?". But then, I quickly make it clear that I was RAISED jdub(actually I was baptised, age 12) and that my mom and gramma are still active.

by JT inlast evening we went out with 2 other former jw couples a couple of guys and their wives i knew from the old days of bethel.
we were discussing the public apology that the catholic church just authorized to be made to the child abuse victims for their cases being mishandled as well as that $100 million dollar check they just cut.. .
and i will ask you all the same question .
